LADIES’ MAN Steve Jones has been trying to work his magic on X Factor babe Stacey Solomon.

The Essex cutie may have lost out on a place in tonight’s final but the infamous Channel 4 swordsman has fallen for her dazzling singing performances.

And after getting hold of her number via a mutual pal, the Welshman is said to be “closing in” on a dinner date.

A source said: “Steve has become smitten with Stacey after her performances on X Factor. He thinks she’s absolutely gorgeous and hilarious fun.

“They have not met up yet but Steve sent her a text wishing her the best of luck for the final weekend and asked for a dinner date as soon as the competition is over.

If single-mum Stacey, 20, steps out with the hunk, 32, she will join a long list of honeys to have ended up in the former male model’s arms.

He has been linked to Pamela Anderson, 42, Paris Hilton, 28, Hayden Panettiere, 20, and Fearne Cotton, 28.
