BOOST FOR FASHION GIANTS JACQUES VERT
ABOVE: Jacques Vert profits have doubled
SHARES in womenswear retailer Jacques Vert were all the fashion yesterday after half year profits more than doubled.
The stock jumped by a third following an increase in pre-tax profits from £1.1million to £2.9m in the 26 weeks to October 24, on sales up 1.6% to £55.8m.
Investors were cheered by a 2.1% rise in like-for-like sales in the 10-week period that followed.
Chief executive Paul Allen said autumn and winter ranges had performed strongly and he was especially pleased with online sales growth.
