IT is the last throw of the dice for us in Afghanistan.

Around 4,000 British troops will be backing US Marines and Afghan forces as they battle to destroy the Taliban.

The fight for Marjah is about to begin.

It is the opium-rich stronghold that has bankrolled the terrorist group.

Without it, they’re dead in the water.

We are now eight long years into the Afghanistan war.

More than 250 Brit soldiers have died.

A victory in this battle will be like snapping the head off the insurgency in one fell swoop.

The Taliban will be destroyed in their own backyard.

And an end to this horror will finally be in sight. That’s why this battle is so important. Marjah must fall.

We cannot afford another eight years.

Our brave heroes will make sure they emerge the victors.
