MICHAEL STEPHENSON’S HAT-TRICK

MICHAEL STEPHENSON scored a hat-trick of tries as Bath beat Sale 40-7 in the LV Cup at The Rec yesterday.

Matt Carraro, Pieter Dixon and Jack Cuthbert also scored touchdowns.

Cardiff Blues edged out Llanelli Scarlets 38-23 after two tries from Casey Laulala and 13 points from Ben Blair’s boot.

Northampton’s strong second-half performance saw off Leicester as they won 23-11.

Paul Diggen and Alan Dickens scored tries, while Stephen Myler kicked ten points.

Worcester beat London Irish 19-9 in the other game.

Willie Walker kicked 14 points.
