TONI TERRI STANDS BY HER MAN

SHATTERED Toni Terry last night spoke of her heartbreak at husband John’s affairs – but again vowed to stand by him.

Brave Toni said the stress of their relationship had left her in turmoil.

And she confessed: “I just don’t know what to do. It’s a very upsetting time.”

Toni, 26, fled to Dubai with twins Georgie and Summer to escape the storm surrounding Chelsea defender John, 29.

He was last week stripped of the England captaincy after sleeping with Vanessa Perroncel, former girlfriend of team-mate Wayne Bridge, 29.

Meanwhile, Terry himself yesterday publicly thanked the fans for standing by him – but did not mention his family.Toni, however, insisted the affair would bring her and John closer.

She told OK! magazine: “Whenever we have hard things to deal with in our marriage, it always brings us closer.

“And even though we’ve been together for 10 years, we’re still learning about each other.”

A source close to the glamorous WAG added: “She’s a very strong-minded girl. If anyone can get through this, it’s her.

“She and John have so much to stay together for, not least their kids. I’m sure Toni will make sure they do exactly the right thing for them.

“She’s been through this before with John and is still standing by his side.”

Terry and Vanessa, 29, are said to have romped during a five-month affair which started last autumn after she split from England full-back Bridge, who is now with Manchester City.

Since the story first broke, a host of other footballers and pop stars have also been linked to former lingerie model Vanessa but she has denied many of the claims.

Meanwhile, Terry heaped praise on Chelsea fans for the ovation they gave him at Sunday’s match against Arsenal, his first since England boss Fabio Capello, 63, sacked him as skipper. He said: “On a personal note I’d like to thank every single fan.

“It’s been a really emotional day for me and the way the fans have been with me for the last two weeks, honestly it’s incredible, I didn’t expect that today.

“I go away full of delight today and I’d like to thank every single fan for the way they treated me today.”

Talking to Chelsea TV, he added: “I mean it from my heart, I’d like to thank everyone for today, thank you.”

But onlookers said the strain of the past two weeks was beginning to show on Terry as the usually stocky defender was looking slimmer than normal. He looks like he’s lost about half a stone,” said one fan.

“It’s as if everything’s getting to him, despite his hard-man image.”

Terry is set to jet out to Dubai for crisis talks with Toni this week, and has been given “compassionate leave” by Chelsea.

The scandal broke two weeks ago when a court injunction Terry had won to gag the press reporting his alleged affair with Vanessa was overturned.
