£1 ‘FINE’ FOR EBAY CONMAN
A WEB fraudster who duped eBay customers out of more than £100,000 has been ordered to pay back £1.
Phillip Shortman, 22, nicknamed “eBay boy”, led a luxury life selling non- existent goods on the auction site.[>

He took holidays in New York, hired limos and bought designer clothes.[>

Dozens of his customers demanded money back after he was arrested. But a court heard Shortman, of Cwmbran, south Wales, had spent all the proceeds.[>

He is currently serving 30 months for 16 frauds.[>

He was facing a £7,000 confiscation order but prosecutor John Warren told Newport Crown Court: “Shortman has no assets.”[>
