SIZZLING lingerie is set to become even sexier as women snap up sheer bodies and nipple covers.

Following in the footsteps of celebrities such as Lily Allen and Rhianna, women have been buying sheer bodies by the likes of Stella McCartney.

And to avoid revealing too much, they are investing in nude nipple covers which have seen a 20% rise in sales.

Helen Attwood, head buyer for lingerie giants Selfridges, said: "Underwear as outer wear isn't a new phenomenon however this spring, designers such as Stella and Christian Dior are taking it to another level.

"Our customers are spending upwards of £250 on sheer bodies which they don't want to keep hidden under clothes.

"Today's if-you've-got-it-flaunt-it generation is proving that there is nothing like a peak of expensive lingerie to make a woman feel special."

Selfridges has now increased orders of the accessories designed to protect women's modesty. The Fashion Forums nipple covers are available at Selfridges, price £10.
