HENDERSON OUTLINES PLANS FOR ACCORDING

ABOVE: Nicky Henderson outlined the weekend plans for some of his stable stars, including According
2nd February 2010

By Peter Thickett

NICKY Henderson outlined the weekend plans for some of his stable stars yesterday - but it was one of his unraced hurdlers that was the day’s gamble.

The four-year-old According was the subject of a monster punt for next month’s Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival with Coral forced to slash his odds from 16-1 down to 14-1 and then again to 10-1 in a matter of minutes.

“Today’s gamble on According was one of the biggest of the jumps season so far and is clear evidence that Henderson has another high class four year old on his hands,” said Simon Clare, Coral spokesman. According is also 10s with Paddy Power but 12-1 with William Hill.

According was with Freddie Head in France where he won three times. Punchestowns will take his chance in what could be a small field for the Tote- pool Challengers Novices’ Chase at Sandown on Saturday.

Henderson’s exciting prospect is favourite for the RSA Chase in March, although due to the recent spate of abandonments has still only had one outing over fences.

Henderson is also hoping for some spark on the track from Binocular for the first time this season on Saturday. Last season’s Champion Hurdle third warms up at Sandown for another crack at the Smurfit Kappa-sponsored show-piece on March 16.

He has yet to show his best form in two races this term. Noel Fehily fears he might miss both the Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals after aggravating an old shoulder injury at Cheltenham on Saturday.

Arkle favourite Captain Cee Bee is due to have his final run before the Cheltenham Festival in Saturday’s BBA Ireland Ltd Opera Hat Novice Chase at Naas.
