SUZUKI SX4 PERFECT FOR SNOWY WEATHER

ABOVE: Suzuki SX4 is perfect for snowy weather
29th January 2010

By George Fowler

FANCY getting ready for the next year’s wave of snow hell? A new and fuel-efficient version of the Suzuki SX4, on sale in April, should fit the bill for my guesstimate of around £13,000.

It’s badged the SZ5, with SZ3 and 4 versions already on sale from £11,640. However, as they’re front-wheel-drive only, “you don’t want that” as Chris Tarrant would say.

The new 2010 model features something called i-AWD, which stands for intelligent all-wheel drive, along with 16-inch alloys, side under protection mouldings and front and rear skid plates.

There’s also a posher interior, which includes illuminated steering wheel radio controls.

You’ll also get six airbags, climate control, a trip computer, heated mirrors, keyless entry and start, six-CD stereo and rear privacy glass.

Choose from a 120bhp, 1.6 litre petrol engine which averages 43mpg or a 90bhp diesel job with a massive 160lb of torque and an average 57mpg.

Both cars have the same 109mph top speed and 0-62mph in just over 12 seconds.
