DEVIL OF A QUESTION

26th January 2010

NEWS that the Devil Brothers’ mum wants to sue Doncaster Council poses so many questions that it is tricky to know just where to start.

Apparently the woman thinks her tearaway lads should have been taken off her earlier and put into care.

And because they weren’t – well, that’ll be £100,000 of taxpayers’ cash, please. First of all she should be refused all Legal Aid. And as soon as possible, the courts should tell her, in the simplest possible terms, to clear off.

But her claims warrant closer inspection. She says she was begging the council for help with the lads, and none came.

That’s a damning indictment of a seemingly inept authority. Who did she contact? What did she say? Why was nothing done?

All these answers must be forth- coming. But how did she get into that situation in the first place? Two lads don’t go off the rails to the extent they want to kill for kicks for no reason.

She needs to address her own shortcomings before trying to blame others.
