BOSS TIM PEACOCK PLAYING IT FOR LAUGHS

DAILY STAR SUNDAY
ABOVE: Peterborough ice hockey
7th February 2010

NEW boss Tim Peacock is planning to have his players laughing all the way to the play-offs.

The Canadian coach celebrates his first week in charge of Peterborough by taking on in-form Guildford tonight.

The last time the two teams met, the Flames were in scorching form with a 9-1 win that went a long way to getting former boss Doug Irwin

axed.

Peacock, his No.2, said: “There were reasons the team wasn’t playing the way it should have.

Happier

“I’ve changed a couple of things and they seem to be a lot happier.

“There’s been a lot of things people don’t know about but that stays in the dressing room, that’s the way coaches like to keep it.”

Peacock’s main aim is to get the team ethic back in his seventh-placed side – and then reach the play-off final four.

He added:  “It’s too late to make any changes but from the start of the season up until recently, you can count on one hand how many times we’ve played as a team.

“We need to get back to a solid team mind set.”
