That’s bad news for us but great for the phone industry, which rakes in £13billion from our unused airtime.
Comparison website moneysupermarket. com said contract customers are the worst offenders, wasting up to 27 hours a year.
And it is all because half of us are on the wrong tariff in the fi rst place, say experts. Mike Wilson, from the site, said: “Working out how much you use each month enables you to find a contract that suits you and saves you money.”
The site’s relaunched phone channel compares over 480,000 deals and more than 440 handsets.
